La calce romana gialla NHL 3,5 è un legante minerale di origine naturale, ottenuto per cottura di calcari marnosi selezionati, privi di additivi chimici o cementizi. Si presenta sotto forma di polvere finissima di colore chiaro, tendente al beige o avorio, con una consistenza vellutata e uniforme. Questo prodotto è conforme alla norma UNI EN 459-1, che garantisce la sua classificazione come calce idraulica naturale con resistenza meccanica media. La sigla NHL 3,5 (Natural Hydraulic Lime) indica una resistenza alla compressione pari a circa 3,5 MPa a 28 giorni, rendendola idonea per impieghi strutturali moderati e per interventi di restauro conservativo. La sua composizione naturale le consente di indurire sia per reazione con l’acqua (idraulicità) che per carbonatazione con l’anidride carbonica presente nell’aria, rendendola un materiale altamente traspirante, duraturo e compatibile con i materiali da costruzione storici.

It appears as an extremely fine powder of a light color, typically beige or ivory, with a smooth and uniform texture. This product complies with UNI EN 459-1, which certifies its classification as a natural hydraulic lime with medium mechanical strength. The designation NHL 3.5 (Natural Hydraulic Lime) indicates a compressive strength of approximately 3.5 MPa after 28 days, making it suitable for moderately structural applications and conservation restoration work. Its natural composition allows it to harden both by reaction with water (hydraulic set) and by carbonation with the carbon dioxide present in the air, making it a highly breathable, durable, and compatible material for use with historic building materials.
